A February to remember

I've been up to quite a bit recently. February was perfectly busy, I was satiated with tasks and events and commitments but things didn't get out of hand and I didn't start to feel like a mouse on the wheel struggling not to get swept up and fly around and around.

I was the running mouse, not a spinning mouse

The valentine's celebrations started early this year, I went to several valentine crafting sessions, at Alaura's house, Fiona's house, Annie's house, a Lloyd center art market/valentine event, and the Kboo cupid event. I wrote and mailed valentines to many close friends this year, and it felt good to center platonic love. I made lots of little cheesy hearts and pickup lines and stuffed envelopes full of sweetness.
I got really into drawing clown makeup looks

Valentine's day itself was snowy, and the snow never turned to malicious ice (thank you jesus). It was fluffy and gorgeous and the sky was blue. Teeks and I went for walks, watched kids sled, and I took pictures of cool shoe prints we found.

I went to a Kreayshawn Dj set called Love Drug, some friends from Seattle came down for it and it was a blast. I dusted off the ol faithful, my firetruck red bob cut wig, and had a lot of fun dancing to the tunes. I really liked the opening Djs more than Kreay herself tbh, but it was really excited to see the icon in the flesh. Apparently she lives around here now, so hopefully she'll be doing more shows. The next day, I took the seattle friends to the reptile store, it was so fun and we held cute snakes and oohed and ahhed at all the critters.
teeks and I smelled so good on the bus otw to the
rave that several people told us we smelled like vanilla and cookies

idk how to pose for pics, broken neck it is

snakey!!!

Ruby had an excellent bday party, it was gossip girl masquerade themed, and the guests did not disappoint!!

I took half an adderall and had to hide in ruby's room several times to do deep breathing

I went to Seattle for a few days via flix bus, and had some adventure trying to figure out where I was going to stay. I ended up going down to Federal Way and cheering for LC at the conference meet there. It was fun to surprise the team, and it was the best session to watch since it was the last one of the weekend and they did the senior celebrations and everything. I also got to see my friend who swims for Williamette and that was really sweet.

Books that I read this month include 'On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous' by Ocean Voung (I passed it along to one of Thea's friends in Seattle!), 'Hello Beautiful' by Ann Napolitano, and 'Short Stories by Roal Dahl' Follow me on good reads if you want to see what I thought of those: @kate-um

We had our first bookclub meeting in february, and that was really fun. We went out to Woman Crush Wednesday at badlands afterward, and so I had to come up with a club to club look, that would work for both clubs. This month I really leaned into dressing in a more twee adjacent way, I almost always wear tights when I go out but when I seattle I bought some purple tights, and that really upped my game, especially when I paired them with my gold ballet flats and blue own pendant necklace. The spirit of zoe dechenelle protects me.

I wore the outfit with the grey cardigan to go to the Lloyd center mall with Emily. We had so much fun being mall rats and sulking around the basically deserted hallways. It's so eery and awesome in there, we were there right before closing and I kept feeling like we were on the set of a prank show or something. We went to Bauhouse (? spelling) and got some awesome thrift finds. The guy who was working there had a strange accent and insanely twirled mustache, the likes of which is pictured here -->

i got this sticker at the mall

This was a big birthday month, Anika also had a party and we matched without planning on it!!! So fun and cute. Sophia and I got ready together and took a 2 bus journey to go to the party in SW, we ran into Joe on the second bus and walked to the house through a fenced off parking lot together.

Jami and I went to retro game bar, every time I go there I like to play two new games based on how fun or interesting they look in the glass case. this time, we chose Earth Worm Jim and Toejam and Earl. Both were really fun and cute, earthworm jim was mario world adjacent and I've never seen something quite like toejam and earl. Such fun.

I can tell that spring is really on the way.  My main clue is that Laszlo has been shedding like crazy.
